Built in the 19th century on what was the ruins of an ancient convent, Château Grace Dieu des Prieurs (“Thanking God by Prayer”) is impossible to miss as one enters the once fortified medieval village of Saint-Emilion. A jewel of just seven hectares, Grace Dieu’s vines are on an important plateau between Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, bordering Château Cheval Blanc just to the northwest, on a complex soil of crushed iron and quartz gravel, planted at 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. |
