Subject: 🍇Nebbiolo lovers know the secret ...🇮🇹

Lombardy Valtellina Superiore ~ This is one of the most dramatic vineyard landscapes in the world and one of the best known in the scope of mountain viticulture.

Nebbiolo finds entirely different shades of expression in Lombardy’s Valtellina Valley, a thin strip of steep, terraced vineyards along the Italian-Swiss border in the Alps. Known locally as Chiavennasca, Nebbiolo in Valtellina is capable of creating striking, captivating wines endowed with real personality. And without the sky-rocketing price-tag of Barolo!

We were lucky to discover from the stellar 2013 vintage this small cache direct from the winery. Drinking perfectly now for the beautiful Autumn months ahead.
2013 Luca Faccinelli Valtellina Superiore
Ortensio Lando

$35 bottle

Made only in great vintages, from 70 year old Nebbiolo vines that are terraced 700 meters, this cuvee is named after Ortensio Lando, the Italian Humanist philosopher who in 1548 declared that the wine in Valtellina is the best in the world! We can not argue with that.
