Made of 100% Viura aged for four years in American oak barrels this full bodied dry white wine is full-bodied and complex.

2 bottles 2006 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Gravonia White $75 bottle
94 Points Wine Advocate “The warmer 2006 Viña Gravonia Crianza, a white inspired by the wines from Graves (hence the name), is pure Viura matured in well-seasoned oak barrels for four years and bottled unfiltered in November 2011. The nose does not transmit any heat whatsoever, showing notes of chamomile, beeswax, honey and aromatic herbs. The palate is sharp, medium-bodied with great acidity and freshness that is both clean and persistent; it is more austere than exuberant, which was a real surprise. Overall, it is tasty and supple. The Gravonia vineyard is very old and naturally-balanced, which shows in the wine. Against all odds, the 2006 is showing better than the 2005 today. Fantastic and a steal!”

3 bottles 2007 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Tondonia Reserva White $65 bottle
95 Points Wine Advocate
One of two vintages I tasted of the white from the Viña Tondonia, the 2006 Viña Tondonia Blanco Reserva is from a warm and ripe year, but the wine doesn't show heat. It feels a little riper than the 2007 I tasted next to it. It has more depth and complexity than the Gravonia, with the aromatic profile closer to a white Hermitage than any other white I can think of. The palate is bone dry, with some austerity and pungent flavors, where the flavors include lemon peel, beeswax, herbal tea and dry hay.”

Rosé

5 bottles 2010 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Tondonia Rose Gran Reserva $75 bottle
Lopez de Heredia truly follows the classic adage of the wine industry: "Sell no wine before its time!" The golden standard in traditional Rioja, this blend of 60% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo and 10% Viura is made in the classic "Clarete" style.
Beautiful flavors of blood orange, berries, peach skin and almonds only begin to describe this wine, which also has a silken texture unlike any other Rosé you have likely ever had. As ever, this is a true wine world original and a very special bottle of wine.

12 bottles 2010 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Vina Cubillo Crianza $35 bottle
Cubillo is the youngest Lopez de Heredia wine in the stable, referring to the vineyard of the same name. Though it is always the most recent vintage of all their wines, it sees two years in used American oak barrels and another two in bottle prior to release, making it nearly old enough to be classified as a Gran Reserva.

2 bottles 1995 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Tondonia Gran Reserva $200 bottle
98 points James Suckling
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate “Bottles like this are the ones that created the López de Heredia myth. This could be lighter than the 1994, but in the long run I believe the 1995 will be the better bottle. Drink 2015-2035.”

1 magnum 2001 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva Rioja $225 bottle
original wood case
95 Points Wine Advocate “The 2001 Vina Tondonia Reserva is bridled with a lovely nose of decayed red fruit, fireside hearth, a touch of mulberry and small red cherry. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp red fruits (wild strawberry and cranberry) with a sharp, vibrant, tense, tannic finish that has immense precision. There is a slight saline note lingering in the mouth after the wine has (regretfully) departed. Drink now-2030+”
