A pure Rhone Grenache from a centuries-old winery that has been practicing organic farming for generations.
Sisters Elisabeth and Marie-Laurence Saladin run the family business which has been passed down from father to son since 1422 (older than Chave!). The winery is located in the beautiful Provençale Ardèche area of the Côtes du Rhône, in the village of Saint Marcel d’Ardèche.

The selection of ‘terroirs’ at Domaine Saladin reveals a true exception in the wine world: the vineyards have always been organically farmed and maintained. By choice, and thanks to their location, Saladin has never used pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or any other chemical compounds. Previous generations did without as they did not know about them.
Organic farming was already an inherited family philosophy and way of life for Elisabeth and Marie-Laurence, who still prefer not to label their wines as ‘Agriculture Biologique’ (Certified Organic) by ‘Ecocert’ (despite the fact that they are indeed certified). They would rather let the wines speak for themselves. |

90% Grenache and 10% Clairette co-planted in this old vineyard The grapes for this wine come from the ancestral vineyard, the oldest vines from our Uncle Paul, (Louis’ eldest brother) - a real treasure! |
