Subject: ✥Grand Cru Champagne, You Deserve It!✥

The Clouet family possess 8ha of vineyards situated on the best middle slopes of the Grand Crus' Bouzy and Ambonnay. Bouzy, a village with chalky soils that permeate between Grand Cru and Premier Cru grape fields where Pinot Noir speaks with great eloquence and contends with only Burgundy in intensity. The wines are cellared under the family's 17th century village house built by their ancestor, a printer to Louis XV's royal court at Versailles. The respect for their precious terroir is evident in the wines, giving a wonderful expression of Bouzy Pinot Noir. The wines are made very traditionally and the labels are attractively old-fashioned. The Clouet style is rich, concentrated expressions of Pinot Noir, while still retaining elegance and finesse.

The resulting wine is pleasingly dry with a beautiful expression of fruit that drinks way above its price tag.
Andre Clouet Champagne 1911
$95 bottle
100% Pinot Noir

“1911” is a non-vintage blend comprised of wines from 3 vintages: 50% from 2004, 25% from 2007, and 25% from 2008, all of which are made from Grand Cru Bouzy estate-grown fruit. 50% of the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, the other 50% was fermented in Sauternes barrels. The name “1911” is given for the number of bottles produced annually of this elegant blend of the region’s best vintages.

94 Points Antonio Galloni “A richly-textured, expansive Champagne, the 1911 bursts from the glass with expressive layers of perfumed Pinot fruit. The wine possesses stunning depth, clarity and precision in an utterly engaging style, with never-ending waves of fruit that caress the palate from start to finish. Precise chalky notes frame a sublime finish. Simply put this is remarkable juice, and one of the best relative values readers will find in Champagne.”
