Milan Nestarec has fast become the star winemaker of the Czech Republic. His wines display so much life, vitality, and originality, that they have become very sought after all over the world in a very short time.
Nestarec is a young grower based in Moravia, a region in the Czech Republic that lies just 15km from the northern Austrian border. This region has a lot in common with Austria, from the loess soils to the grape varieties that flourish here. Milan is a member of the ‘Autentisté’ group - a community of winemakers making authentic wines that strive to express the true character of the land. No herbicides are used in his vineyards and the vines are worked strictly organically. Milan also vinifies everything with indigenous yeasts and bottles without fining or filtration.

2015 Nestarec Killer Thurgau 
$37 bottle
Made from 100% Müller Thurgau, the 37 year old vines are planted on Quartz. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. The juice is fermented in contact with the skins for about 21 days without temperature control in 1000 litre 6-year-old wooden barrels. The wine remains in the same barrels for about 18 months with occasional battonage. The wine is bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with zero sulfur added.

2016 Nestarec Forks & Knives White Magnums

Muller Thurgau 
Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. The wine is fermented in 2000-liter stainless steel tanks for about 10 days with indigenous yeasts. It then rests in tank for about 10 months with no interference with the wine until it is bottled. The wine is bottled without fining or filtering and zero sulfur is added.

2015 Nestarec TRBLMKR White 
$39 bottle
Made from 100% Neuburger, the 16 year old vines are planted on Loess soils. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. The juice ferments for about 1 month with occasional pigeage and indigenous yeast fermentation in 600 and 1000 litre 3-year-old wooden barrels.. The wine is left in the same barrels for about 19 months with occasional battonage. The wine is bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with zero sulfur added.
