2014 Serafin Pere & Fils Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru $2280 case
From 55+ year old vines
93 Points Allen Meadows, Burghound
93 Points Neal Martin Wine Advcoate
“An attractive, perfumed and quite floral bouquet with plenty of red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate aromas, the new oak here neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy mouthfeel, good body and a lovely spiciness surfacing toward the Mazis-like finish. I appreciate the tension and length of this Charmes-Chambertin.”

2014 Serafin Pere & Fils Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru Les Corbeaux $996 case
“The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux offers dark fruit with blackcurrant and bilberry, wild hedgerow and dried rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with more fleshiness than the Fonteny on the entry, well-judged acidity with a slight muscular finish that will benefit from several years in bottle.” — Neal Martin

2014 Serafin Pere & Fils Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru Les Cazetieres $1620 case
One of the most sought after 1ers Crus in the village, this has scented aromas of Valrhona chocolate. A layered wine, with masses of intensity, tight knit tannins, a fine line of acidity and great drive of summer pudding flavours on the finish. Very high class! :)

2014 Seragin Pere & Fils Morey Saint Denis Premier Cru Les Millandes $1140 case
92 Points Neal Martin It has a well-defined bouquet with plenty of fruit, dark plum and raspberry and floral tones that emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip in the mouth, sappy and quite long with a spicy finish. This is a very competent Morey-Saint-Denis, and returning after 15 to 20 minutes, it continues to improve, gaining cohesion and purity. Drink Date 2020 - 2038.”
Domaine Christian Serafin

This domaine was originally put on the map by Christian Sérafin’s father, Stanislaus Sérafin, a Polish émigré, who settled in Burgundy before the war. His son Christian inherited the domaine in 1988, though he had been making the wine for the previous 20 years. Christian Sérafin is now past retirement age, but with his niece Frédérique in the vineyards and cuverie, and daughter Karine in the office, continuity is in place.

The emphasis here is on old vines and low yields, strict pruning and de-budding. The wines are built to last. These powerful wines age exceptionally well.
