Subject: 2010 Pradeaux is Arriving!

Pradeaux is a special creation, inimitable in all ways and worthy of the attentions of anyone serious about wine.

The 2010 vintage is an exceptional wine of youthful vigor and concentrated fruit, with a firm tannic backbone. We would recommend cellaring this vintage for a decade or two, as our experience suggests this wine will offer great rewards to the patient collector.

2010 Chateau Pradeaux Bandol Rouge
$270 6pack
$90 each magnum
Owned by the Portalis family since 1752, Chateau Pradeaux has its own special micro-climate in the appellation of Bandol as it sits a mere few hundred meters from the Mediterranean in the village of Saint Cyr-sur-Mer. The Bandol from Pradeaux is a creature whose soul emerges from 95% Mourvedre with 5% Grenache adding spice to the bouquet and leavening some of the drama provided by the intimidating structure of the Mourvedre.

The wine is aged at least 4 years in large, old oak ovals and older foudres before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. One of the hallmarks of Pradeaux is that the grapes are never destemmed. The result is a wine of ferocious tannin in its youth, another reason for the prolonged aging in these large wooden barrels, a time for the wine to repose and find its identity as it emerges from the cocoon of tannins to reveal an exceptionally complex crowd of aromas and flavors.
