Dear Friend, And just like that… we’re back again! This time, with your regular August edition of the 2X Global newsletter. Since this comes on the heels of last week’s Summit special edition, we’re keeping this one short and sweet — with some of the great non-Summit news and insights we still have on hand to share with you. As we put this edition together, we found ourselves reflecting on the why behind our work: advancing financing and investment in women and girls, and helping build economies where women can participate, lead and thrive. It’s an important mission in any market. But perhaps especially in one where the investment conversation can shift almost overnight — from AI to critical minerals to the next big thing. The themes may change, but the fundamentals remain. Investing in women-owned, women-led and women-benefiting businesses has been and will continue to be, a sound investment proposition. The evidence continues to make the case. Closing gender gaps in economic participation could add trillions to global GDP, while businesses and funds that better reflect the women who make up half of the population are tapping into markets, talent and opportunities that others may overlook. And increasingly, we’re seeing evidence of the commercial value of putting that commitment into practice. Our recent study with Kore Global found that 95% of 2X-qualified fund managers surveyed said qualification helped them attract new LPs, while 89% reported a positive impact on total fund size. This month, our colleague Alexandra Lockyer explored what this means for fund managers — and the business case for investing in women — in New Private Markets. We hope you’ll give it a read.
