SVCUE Monthly SEL Tune Up

As we round the corner on 1 full year of living in a pandemic,

SVCUE Board Member, Doreen Bonde shares Thirteen different ways you can take ten minutes for yourself! in the March SEL Tune Up.

"Can you carve out 10 minutes in your day to breathe

and stretch out those “I’ve been staring at a screen for

twelve hours” muscles? You can do this."

SVCUE Grows

Every month, our SVCUE Board will engage in conversation around some piece of shared media--an article, a video, a podcast--in order to grow our understanding of the complex issues in education revolving around diversity, equity, and inclusion. We hope to build community around our shared learning, but most importantly we aim to apply our learning to be of better service to our SVCUE community and the students they serve.

Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg

Chesed, Tzedakah, Tzedek:

What's the Difference?

This month, the board viewed Chesed, Tzedakah, Tzedek: What's the Difference? from Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg. The video provide insight into three Jewish practices to promote positive change in the world.

Board member Smita Kolhatkar also shared a link to a Justice Bingo board used at her school site with staff.

We invite you to watch and consider some of the questions we discussed:

  • What is one thing that you connected with?

  • What is one thing that you can do this year  that will make a difference to your world?

  • How can we as the SVCUE board do something impactful that can make a difference in our world?
