How to Get Book Reviews
February 19, 2015
Oakland, California
Stormy

Hi Friend,

I just got back from teaching, speaking, and doing author coaching sessions at the San Francisco Writers Conference -- 4 days! -- and was impressed with all the dedicated authors I met there.

I'm still recovering sleep-wise, and am happy I was able to jump back into my work-in-progress today, editing book 3 of my Henrietta The Dragon Slayer series.

I had a major tech snafu with my weekly Blab chat this week and so decided to bring the topic into a formal webinar on "How to Get Reviews," since people were disappointed. So was I.

I wanted to share how book bloggers are eager to connect with authors and other readers, and how with a little attention, you can connect with bloggers, get reviews, and use the power of word of mouse to increase your visibility and potentially sales.

Many authors think that they just need to do certain promotions to increase sales, but there is no one size fits all in this creative business.

There is no guarantee that asking book bloggers to review your book will generate sales, but if you don't try it, how will you know?

All the details on how to get book reviews here:

or join us for the special free webinar on March 1st:

If you have a book that's difficult to classify because it crosses a few genres, go with the dominant genre when you query bloggers.

Book bloggers really appreciate hearing directly from authors. That's one of the perks of what they do as a hobby: review books and chat about them with their friends who love the same types of books as they do.

In business terms, book bloggers are key influencers. They publish reviews to their blog readers; they already have a built-in audience. Another way of looking at it is the one-to-many marketing, just like teaching or speaking (other great way to get the word out about your book.)

What concerns do you have about getting book reviews? Hit reply and let me know. I'll do my best to address them in the webinar.

All my best,
Beth
