You Have Something To Say, plus Upcoming Book Marketing Webinar + Other Upcoming Cool Things

Hi Friend,

January is wrapping up. Chinese New Year is coming (Year of the Monkey! my year), and so is Imbolc (also known as Saint Brigid's Day).

I feel the turning of time and the restart of cycles. Spring is poking up around here. Ah, Northern California! (Facebook image)

Our Edit Your Novel January bootcamp is wrapping up. As I said last week, I've really enjoyed teaching this course. The homestudy course is up and available, only $30.

A big thank you to Nicole, who asked me to teach this class.

"I am so glad I asked Beth for an Editing class. She and Ezra took a daunting, overwhelming task and broke it down into manageable chunks. My understanding of concepts expanded and I was able to turn a poorly written Nanowrimo project into something I would consider publishing. I now have the confidence to tackle my next editing project and know I will be able to polish my work til it shines."
-- Nicole Mackey, Fantasy Author

I'm deepening into the edits of book 3 in my Henrietta The Dragon Slayer series (new series name), Henrietta and The Horse Mesa (working title), and still loving it. That's all I'll say on that -- for now. (I'm in my quiet writer's cave. Can you tell?)

Reminder: I'm also excited to wrap up the promotions for my latest romance, A Cupcake Christmas, with a fun Facebook party on Saturday, Jan. 30, 11am to 4pm Pacific. Stop by for prizes and chatting! Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/785638294879774/.

On to what's cooking...

You Have Something To Say

Last evening, I was listening to the CEO of Medium.com talk about how many people have something to say. Hundreds of millions, he said.

From their site: "Medium is a community of readers and writers offering unique perspectives on ideas large and small."

Instead of feeling small and insignificant about his words -- hundreds of millions of people with something to say -- my thoughts immediately went to my novels and to yours. And felt instantly hopeful.

Because...

We humans are wired to be intrigued, fascinated, and curious about each other.

The need for stories will never go away.

So...

Believe in your vision for your story.

Honor your story by telling it.

Our job as novelists is to entice our readers into a new world, and let them step away from their lives for a little while.

How can you honor your novel?

What is your next step?

Hit reply and share with me what is your next step. I am curious!

Thank you!

All my best,
Beth

If living your dreams of finishing or publishing or marketing your genre novel is on the top of your Action list this year, then consider joining our 12-month Author Group Coaching program for dedicated novelists. We'd love to have you!

What is a genre novel?

It's commercial or popular fiction; it's stories with a satisfying ending, often called a Hollywood ending.

Genre novels generally end in an expected way. We read for how the story unfolds.

We officially start Feb. 1st, and run through January 31st, 2017.

We'd love to have you join us!

I just opened up a new level now called CALL TO ADVENTURE at the price of $30/month ($360/year) or if people want to Full-Pay it's $249 ($111 off). (Charter prices good until June 30, 2016)
