Plan Your Novel course
Early Bird Bonus Ends Tonight

August 31, 2016
Oakland, California

Hi Friend,

Some days I wish I could wave a magic wand and all the hard work of being a writer could be done.

In my case, it's doing the final edits. It's not that the editing is hard. It's more like what comes next scares me. When I say that, I chuckle, and have compassion for myself. Of course, it's scary. I've never marketed a complete trilogy before. It's all new.

In the creative process, people usually find themselves at ease with one of these places:
  • Starting Phase
  • The Middle Work
  • The Finishing Phase
Your turn: Which one are you at ease with? Which one for you is challenging? Hit reply and let me know.

As I mentioned in the previous email about archetypes (from Persephone Rising by Carol S. Pearson), we can use an archetype or more, if you find yourself stuck.

You can step into the Dionysus archetype to bring humor and lightness and the Demeter archetype to bring compassion to ourselves.

Or perhaps you need the power, structure, and leadership of Zeus. Or you'd benefit from the gentle soul-searching and truth-finding of Persephone.

Your turn: What archetype(s) would you find helpful, if you're stuck?

If you're stuck with the Starting Phase of your novel, then consider joining us for our Plan Your Novel course starting October 1st.

If you're ready to sign up now, you can take advantage the Early Birds Bonuses that end tonight, Wednesday, August 31, 9pm Pacific / 12midnight Eastern.

Plan Your Novel course coming soon!

Early Birds Bonus Deadline Ends 8/31

If you see yourself planning your novel this October want the support of two experienced teachers and writers, then I hope you'll join us for the Plan Your Novel course October.

Who is this course for?

For: Experienced writers or beginning ambitious writers who want to plan their novel in an organic or step-by-step way, so that on Nov. 1st you can start writing it alongside the NaNoWriMo comunity.

This class is good for you:

-- If you have never written a novel, and have always wanted to, and still feel lost on how to go from brilliant idea to The End, then you will be stretched in new and different ways.

-- If you’re an experienced novelist, with 1 or 2 completed or partially completed novels under your bed. You may find this course structured in a way that’s new to you and yet familiar.

-- If you have 5 or more unfinished novels sitting in a drawer, and always hit that sagging middle and lose focus or lose interest, this course will help you dream up exciting ways to torture, I mean challenge, your characters all the way to the resolution of the story.

If you sign up by August 31st (9pm PT/12midnight ET), you'll get 3 Early Bird Bonuses, valued at $165.

(If you have a student coupon code, be sure to use it.)

Have a Happy and Creative Week!

And thanks for showing up for yourself and doing your creative work!

All our best,
Beth & Ezra

PS. I said I'd be answering more novel planning questions in the weeks to come. That may take a while. In the meantime, check out tips here: 8 Novel Planning Tips.
