Discover How to Find Your Ideal Reader in an Exciting Online Summit!

Find Your Readers summit

Hi Friend,

As you get this email, I am having fun being a story consultant at Camp Reel Stories.

Reel Stories is a filmmaking program for girls and non-binary youth aged 12–19 years old. And I've been involved with them for the last 7 years.

Now part of BAVC Media, Reel Stories seeks to close a gender gap in the film industry and empower youth to create media in a supportive environment.

By the time you read this, I will have helped young filmmakers on the films they'll make in a 5-day period.

How cool is that!

When I see what they create at their film festival, I am so inspired.

If teens can create a moving short film in 5 days, what can I create?!

At the camp in downtown Oakland, I'll have been bopping around the room from group to group, hopefully listening to their short film ideas; asking questions; and offering praise, excitement, and story suggestions.

I love helping young storytellers in the film medium.

Working in a different art medium than my main one as a novelist feeds my creative soul.

What are you doing to feed your creative soul these days?

Hit reply and let me know! I'd love to hear.

Find Your Readers -

Upcoming Event! Starts Soon!

Today, I wanted to share some fantastic news about an event that I'm absolutely thrilled about, run by a colleague and fellow writing teacher, Daniel David Wallace.

Although I won't be speaking at this summit this year (though have in years past and will again in the fall), I believe it holds immense value for writers like yourself who are eager to connect with their ideal readers.

I know I will learn a lot!

Introducing "Find Your Readers," an online summit running from Friday through Monday, August 4th to 7th.

This engaging event is designed for writers of all levels, regardless of whether you've completed your first book or not.

It's all about helping you build a loyal audience and discover your ideal readers.

This summit is not your typical "book marketing" gathering.

Instead, it focuses on providing you with low-stress, low-budget techniques to connect with readers, even if you're still in the early stages of your writing journey.

That's my jam.

It's all about building a public presence and reaching the right people—those who will truly resonate with your writing.

The lineup of speakers and topics is truly impressive.

You'll get to dive into subjects like:

- "How to Use Pinterest as a Slow Growth Tool"

- "How to Talk About Your Book to Strangers"

- "Finding the Right Literary Agent for You"

- "Crafting the First Two Months of Your Author Newsletter"

- "Ethical and Admirable Self-Marketing Strategies"

Plus, many more exciting topics!

Now, here's the best part: you have the option of attending the summit for free.

By registering with a free pass, you can watch all 20+ live sessions over the four-day event.

It's an incredible opportunity to gain valuable insights and practical tips from experts in the field.

However, I highly recommend considering the paid ticket option.

It's incredibly affordable, and trust me, the value it brings is worth every penny.

With a paid pass, you'll have access to the event's replays and transcripts, allowing you to revisit the sessions whenever you need a refresher.

Even better, pass buyers will receive a bundle of exclusive bonuses from the speakers, which often cost more than the pass itself.

These bonuses include mini-courses, helpful PDF guides, discounts, and additional mini-lessons—all valuable resources to further enhance your writing skills.

Because I'm a huge fan of Daniel's summit and his work as a teacher, and because I've been a past speaker, I've become an affiliate for this event.

If you decide to upgrade to a paid pass through my affiliate link, I'll receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

It's Daniel's way of thanking those of us promoting the event, and it allows me to continue supporting writers like you.

So don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to find your ideal reader and take your writing journey to new heights. Step by step!
