Hi Friend,

In light of Canada Day tomorrow and July 4th here in the U.S....

My business coach suggested I do a celebration practice or ritual.

And at first I resisted. I can’t even remember why now.

But once I understood what she was asking, I also understood why it was important: because focusing on the positive rewires our brain to see the positive.

And so about four to six days a week, I do a celebration practice where I write in my journal, or sometimes I dictate into voice memo, just a list of things that I’m celebrating.

Sometimes they’re really small, like: I sat on the patio today with my cat and had breakfast. (Instagram)

Sometimes they’re really big, like: Oh! I just had a fabulous meeting with my writing client!!!!

Sometimes they’re whimsical, like: I just took photos of lovely flowers on my walk. (Instagram)

And sometimes they’re just sweet and very personal, like: I had a cozy time cuddling with my sweeties this morning -- my cats and my honey.

So I invite you to do the same thing.

Allow yourself to celebrate what is good in your life, from the simplest to the most amazing and big, and other people would say it’s big, but also those things that are small and tiny and just matter to you.

You'll rewire your brain to see the good in your life, appreciate them more, and invite more goodness into your life.

I also want to celebrate that I have a new membership that I started back in the spring: the "Edit Lab" for short -- formally known as the Edit Your Future: Science Fiction and Fantasy Revision Lab.

I have been running it in beta at $5 a month, and it is time to raise the price to make the program sustainable.

So I am raising the price to $40 a month, so that you get well supported with a monthly call where we do an accountability check-in, do a little teaching, take questions, and, the star attraction, do live edits.

This is the thing that people tell me is so worth it.

You get to send in 200 words; we will look at it together; and you will get feedback.

I take as many people as we can do in the time allotted, which is 60 to 90 minutes, depending on who shows up.

The Edit Lab is a great way to get some professional, experienced eyes on your work from me.

You also get support in other ways when we’re not meeting live, and that is lessons on editing your science fiction and fantasy novel, starting with fundamentals that apply to all novelists.

Those are accessible in our private premium audio channel.

More goodies are coming soon as I build out this membership.

So this email is to make sure everybody knows that it is still $5 because I’m on vacation and celebrating my writing by going on a writing retreat.

I’ll be back in the office and raising the rates right after our July monthly call.

So you can join now for $5, come to the monthly call, July 8th at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, and that price is locked in forever.

❤️

Happy Writing!

Best,

Beth
