Attract your ideal readers with this one powerful sentence

Hi Friend,

Congrats to the 1st Chapter Genre Contest winners! I'll announce their names soon, as soon as they are notified!

Did you know word of mouth still sells more books than any other promotional tool out there?

I'm excited to share with you my new training coming up next week on how to craft that
one sentence you could say to an ideal reader and then watch them squeal with joy in anticipation to read your book.

When I started promoting my fiction, well, I didn't do much about it.

When we're afraid of something, we tend to have one of three possible reactions -- fight, flight, or freeze.

My response to book promotions was freeze. So, for a while I didn't promote my books.

I didn't know where to begin and I felt overwhelmed.

While I was working on my novels, I was also building my business helping writers and learning how to attract my right audience.

Where do you start when you're not sure who your right audience is?

You test! In the design field, they call this prototyping. I like to call it "practicing in the real world."

With my business as with my books, I tested my one powerful sentence with my family, friends, and potential audience, watching the reaction in person, and noticing how people responded to me online.

As an author, I listened to what people repeated back to me about what they liked, and what stuck. I was often surprised.

One of the things I realized is that our book promotions aren't something we do all by ourselves. Book promotions is a community affair, and as such we need the support and feedback of our community of fellow authors, friends, family, and people who could be our readers.

Next week I'll teach you how to draft your author branding statement so you can attract your ideal readers. You'll also have a chance to practice your powerful sentence and get feedback during the Q&A portion of the call.

Hope you can join us for our upcoming training next week, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, 5:30-7pm Pacific.
