Too, this could easily be made into a larger project by shaping wire into the size heart you want.
And, another idea - use burlap instead of felt or ribbon.
In other words, use the basic idea and create your own unique version.

But visualize how pretty this could be using two-sided ribbon, especially if the colors on the ribbon contrast front and back.
Too, this is a great project for children to help with the felt (ribbon) around the wire.
