AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT VIOLATES
2ND AMENDMENT, AT BEHEST OF BATF

(Austin) - Private gunowners who attended the Austin Gun Show on January 16/17 received a surprise.  There were informed by proprietor, Darwin Boedeker, that no private gun sales were going to be allowed, as he had been threatened and intimidated by the BATF and the Austin City Police.

According to the Chairman of the Constitution Party of Texas, Bryan Malatesta, "There are no laws restricting the private sale of firearms within a single state, and this is a total overreach of power on the part of both the BATF and the Austin Police Department.  Where is Governor Perry, the so-called Conservative now?  What does all his talk about States' Rights do for the gun owners of Travis County?  The Constitution Party condemns this action as blatant jack-booted thuggery."

Constitution Party candidate for Governor, David Kirkland, strongly denounced the action and pledged to use the power of the State of Texas to protect ALL private property rights from illegal interference by anyone, whether they be private or government entities.  Kirkland resides in Williamson County, and will face the "Big Brother Candidates" of both the Republican and the Democratic parties in November.

The Constitution Party invites all individual private gun owners who are interested in mounting a class action lawsuit against the City of Austin and the BATF to contact us now.
