175 years of history - let's restore Texas Independence!

Let Texans decide their future

Political Guts Is At Stake — having the Will to let Texans Decide

The issues are simple:

1. The Dems and Reps have turned there backs on America and instead dole out $$$ to the highest paying lobbyist while violating the most basic compact of “self-government”, i.e., the constitutional limitations of the civil magistrate both on the national and state level. In all three branches of “government”.

2. The Constitution Party of Texas is the ONLY political party willing to live as our forefathers intended, under original intent. Both under the US and the Texas Constitutions.

3. The Constitution Party understands and recognizes that all power is inherent in the People and as in 1776 and in 1836 and in 1861, We The People decided to go it alone....that is, We The People have a right to determine our political destiny.

Had our political leaders allowed competition into the political arena these past 175 years, maybe, just maybe we wouldn’t be on the brink of economic collapse.

As the Texas Declaration of Independence States in its first paragraph:

“When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.....”

Key point: When government ceases to do its duty, the People have a right to alter or abolish it.

Power to the People

Is it time for Texans to ask the question? Should Texas be Independent?

Today March 5, 2011 is the 175th anniversary of William Barret Travis drawing the line in the sand at the Alamo. On this day, Texans will draw another line in the sand for the Texas Legislature.

Article 1 Section 2 of the Texas Constitution reads:

"All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient."(emphasis added)

The Texas Legislature has allowed other states to take the lead on issues of state sovereignty and independence. They say “everything’s bigger in Texas”, so it is time that we gather together and send them a message that a line in the sand has been drawn. Today.

Are you with me?

The Texas Declaration of Independence states in the second paragraph:

“When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the ever ready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants......

“When, long after the spirit of the constitution has departed, moderation is at length so far lost by those in power, that even the semblance of freedom is removed, and the forms themselves of the constitution discontinued, and so far from their petitions and remonstrances being regarded, the agents who bear them are thrown into dungeons, and mercenary armies sent forth to force a new government upon them at the point of the bayonet.....”

It is self evident that nothing has really changed over these 175 years. We could rewrite those two paragraphs in today’s environment.

They then proceed to list a long train of issues borne by the Texan people!

Now let's list them in 2011 style:

1. The IRS

2. Dept of Homeland Security

3. EPA

4. Dept of Education

5. Welfarism

6. BATF

Just a few easy ones and there are many more ..... What aspect of your LIFE isn't dictated by some federal or state law?

Did the 59 signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence sign that document so we could have a nanny state? Did the 186 men and women at the Alamo draw a line in the sand so that TSA with full body scanners could take porno pictures of our women and children and our elderly in direct violation of Christian modesty while harassing our People? Did those men and women die so we could have our property taken by the IRS by the stroke of a pen? Our paychecks garnished because we didn't pay our fair share? And yet the experts can't even decide what is someone's fair share!

Today, March 5, 2011 marks the 175th anniversary of William Barret Travis drawing the line in the sand at the Alamo.

Did our Forefathers die at the Alamo in Vain?

Did they die for a nanny state?

A police state?

A welfare state?

175 years of history - let's restore Texas Independence!

The Texas Declaration goes on to conclude those opening paragraphs with these two statements:

“When, in consequence of such acts of malfeasance and abdication on the part of the government, anarchy prevails, and civil society is dissolved into its original elements. In such a crisis, the first law of nature, the right of self-preservation, the inherent and inalienable rights of the people to appeal to first principles, and take their political affairs into their own hands in extreme cases, enjoins it as a right towards themselves, and a sacred obligation to their posterity, to abolish such government, and create another in its stead, calculated to rescue them from impending dangers, and to secure their future welfare and happiness.

“Nations, as well as individuals, are amenable for their acts to the public opinion of mankind. A statement of a part of our grievances is therefore submitted to an impartial world, in justification of the hazardous but unavoidable step now taken, of severing our political connection with the Mexican people, and assuming an independent attitude among the nations of the earth.”

The question must be asked:

Is it time to ask our fellow Texas, do they want to be Independent and FREE?

It is such a simple question! And yet it conveys such emotions.

If all power is inherent in the People.....

And if We Texans have an inherent right of self-preservation as those 59 signers wrote in the Texas Declaration of Independence.

And if Texas is going to continue to grow and prosper then things must change right here, right now. Those legislators sitting in their high back chairs must hear that Texans don't take kindly to how things have been run the past 175 years!

While the Governor goes to international globalist meetings on the taxpayer’s dime, he then turns around and throws out words like secession. He writes books lambasting the ever reaching and growing federal government. Yet he doesn’t protect our borders or our property from federal thieves.

Both political parties have brought this on. Neither party is willing to live under our Texas Declaration of Independence or our Texas Constitution!

We prohibit real political change by erecting ballot access laws. Arbitrary barriers preventing We The People from participating in our own democratic process!

Did Col. William Barret Travis, draw his line in the sand 175 years ago for what we have in Austin and DC today?

The Harsh Reality

Our Texas forefathers brought the whole matter to its logical end by stating some hard cold facts:

Referencing the list of grievances written throughout the declaration of independence, they wrote:

“These, and other grievances, were patiently borne by the people of Texas, until they reached that point at which forbearance ceases to be a virtue.”

Have we Texans patiently borne our grievances? Have we watched as our border has been desecrated? Our property values destroyed for the love of money and the moneychangers? Our private property abolished for foreign companies control of our freeways to build toll roads to pay to travel on our land? Just to name a few....

Have we been patient?

Have we borne injustices?

Have we borne the trampling of our God given rights to life, liberty and property?

Have we born patience while the IRS was taking our paychecks in direct violation of the Texas Constitution, which only allows for the taking of wages AFTER a court order, implying some semblance of judicial due process? The IRS and our Texas Legislature, Governor and Courts turns a blind eye to our laws and our Constitution on a daily basis when it allows the IRS to send notices to employers to take workers monies without a court proceeding!

Patience I say has been borne!

Our Appeal — Let Texans decide their future

Our forefathers stated:

“We appealed to our Mexican brethren for assistance. Our appeal has been made in vain.”

I ask, have we appealed to Congress to stop this unlawful plundering? Have we appealed to our Legislature and Governor to stand for the written law and our God given rights? The answer is obvious.... of course we have, and we have been ignored! Or as those 59 signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence wrote it:

“OUR APPEAL HAS BEEN MADE IN VAIN!”

Our Texas founding fathers concluded the matter when they stated:

“The necessity of self-preservation, therefore, now decrees our eternal political separation.”

Are we at that point? Should Texans at least voice their concern in these matters? Should this legislature and our Governor hear what We Texans think on the matter?

We are asking strongly that the Texas Legislature let the People of Texas decide their future! It is only right.

Drastic times call for drastic actions....

Is it time for a vote of Texans on the issue of independence?

Is it time that citizens of Texas report to the Governor and the Legislature of the wishes of the citizens of the State of Texas?

Is it time to let both houses of the United States Congress and the President of the United States what Texans think about Independence?

Then it is time to place this issue squarely on the ballot for the citizens of Texas to report back their wishes.

Ballot question: That the State of Texas should declare its independence from the United States of America and return to a Republican form of government as the Republic of Texas.

It is so easy to see the will of the People, when the People drive the process.

Attached is a draft resolution allegedly being sponsored by Texas Legislature Rep. Leo Burman (R-Tyler). This bill only places the issue of Texas Independence before We The People of Texans. It is in essence, a survey vote as the results are non-binding. But the effect could last a lifetime for Texas!

The cutoff for filing new bills is March 11th. This could be our last chance to move the Legislature to action in this session. Let's show them that the freedom and independence of Texas is 175 years young and that it is more important than slot machines and committee assignments.

Tell your State Representative and State Senator you want We The People of Texas to decide Texas Independence. Not Washington. And not Austin!

Let your voice be heard today. To quote Col. William Barret Travis: "I shall have to fight the enemy on his own terms, yet I am ready to do it, and if my countrymen do not rally to my relief, I am determined to perish in the defense of this place, and my bones shall reproach my country for her neglect."

Let not he and the Alamo die in Vain!

Give his sacrifice meaning. We can’t say Independence is THE answer...but we can definitely say that We The People of Texas have a right to answer that question! Let the question be brought before the Texas voters. Not politicians.

We are interested in what you have to say. Click here take our poll: Are you in favor of Texas Independence?

We will report back the results.

We are the OFFICIAL Constitution Party of Texas

Accept no substitutes, and do not be fooled by imposters!

Yes, believe it or not, there are at least two other groups out there who like our concept so much that they have stolen our logos, our platform, and even our name! It's nice to be popular, but this is the real deal.

Just ask our National CP Chairman,
