Happy Texas Independence Day from CP Texas

The Unanimous Declaration of Independence made by the Delegates of the People of Texas in General Convention at the town of Washington on the 2nd day of March 1836.
Dear Supporters and members:

On this day in 1836, Texas became a republic. On March 1 delegates from the seventeen Mexican municipalities of Texas and the settlement of Pecan Point met at Washington-on-the-Brazos to consider independence from Mexico. George C. Childress presented a resolution calling for independence, and the chairman of the convention appointed Childress to head a committee of five to draft a declaration of independence. In the early morning hours of March 2, the convention voted unanimously to accept the resolution. After fifty-eight members signed the document, Texas became the Republic of Texas. The change remained to be demonstrated to Mexico. (source: Texas State Historical Association)

So began our beloved State of Texas! Have you ever read our Declaration? Here is the beginning four (4) paragraphs:

"When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression."

"When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants."

"When, long after the spirit of the constitution has departed, moderation is at length so far lost by those in power, that even the semblance of freedom is removed, and the forms themselves of the constitution discontinued, and so far from their petitions and remonstrances being regarded, the agents who bear them are thrown into dungeons, and mercenary armies sent forth to force a new government upon them at the point of the bayonet."

"When, in consequence of such acts of malfeasance and abdication on the part of the government, anarchy prevails, and civil society is dissolved into its original elements. In such a crisis, the first law of nature, the right of self-preservation, the inherent and inalienable rights of the people to appeal to first principles, and take their political affairs into their own hands in extreme cases, enjoins it as a right towards themselves, and a sacred obligation to their posterity, to abolish such government, and create another in its stead, calculated to rescue them from impending dangers, and to secure their future welfare and happiness."

Re-read those short paragraphs. Does any of this sound familiar? Let me ask you two serious questions:

    1) has anything changed?
    2) are you ready to effect that change?
Today, Texans are voting in the primaries of the two largest political parties, and we must ask, to what end? For more government run health care? For more federal environmental control? For more federal government run education? For more federal gun control? For more federal paper money? For more OSHA? For more BATF? For more wiretapping of citizens? For more what?

Let's be honest, no political party that has been in "power" over the last 50 years has done one thing to honor the agreement between the states, otherwise known as 'The Constitution for the United States'.

Our Texan forefathers met on March 1, 1836 and made history.

Convention of 1836
(1 March 1836)
Fifty-four delegates of the Convention of 1836 began meeting on March 1 at the village of Washington-on-the-Brazos. Each of the settlements of Texas were represented by delegates elected one month earlier. Richard Ellis was elected president of the convention and Herbert S. Kimble secretary.

With very little time to accomplish its mission, delegates of Convention of 1836 wrote and adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence, prepared a Constitution for the newly formed Republic, and organized an an interim government. These actions were accomplished amid almost daily reports of the invasion on Texas soil by Mexico, and the collapse of the Alamo and destruction of its defenders.

The ad interim government that was created by the delegates took office at the close of the convention, and served until the following October, when general elections could be held. Officers of the newly formed Republic included:

   * David G. Burnet, President
   * Lorenzo de Zavala, Vice-president
   * Samuel P. Carson, Secretary of State
   * Thomas J. Rusk, Secretary of War
   * Bailey Hardeman, Secretary of Treasury
   * David Thomas, Attorney General

With their mission accomplished, the delegates and the newly formed government of the Republic of Texas adjourned in haste during the early morning hours of March 17, following news of the approach of Santa Anna and the Mexican army. (http://www.lsjunction.com/events/conv1836.htm)

Our Texas Declaration was made public March 2, 176 years ago! It's time to rally round the flag and sign up.

Here's the bottom line, if you keep doing the same thing yet expect different results, you are fooling yourself and experiencing the definition of insanity.

Let's make Texas history today by doing three things:

    1. Do not vote in today's primary because once you vote in today's primary, you can not become a delegate nor can you sign our ballot access petition;

    2. Grab our precinct convention document HERE and get your local county organized and ready to go;

    3. Donate and join the party HERE so that our message of Freedom and Liberty can be spread statewide!
We are on the verge of history, just like our forefathers and I pray that you will be a part of it with us.

As the saying goes in the historic movie 'Field of Dreams': Build it and they will come!

We must build the political party that embodies our Texan heritage of Freedom and Liberty - we are the Tea Party Party!

Join with us today.

We are the OFFICIAL Constitution Party of Texas

Accept no substitutes, and do not be fooled by imposters!

Yes, believe it or not, there are at least two other groups out there who like our concept so much that they have stolen our logos, our platform, and even our name! It's nice to be popular, but this is the real deal.

Just ask our National CP Chairman,
