[CPTexas] Jumping off of Bridges

“If all your friends are jumping off of bridges….”

How many times did you hear that, growing up?  How many times did you say it to your own children?  “Just because everyone else is doing it, does NOT mean that YOU have to do it!”

This is an important principle in life – there are times when we must stand alone.  First, there is the little matter of Right vs. Wrong.  And then, we learn that the path of least resistance is often the most dangerous path in the long run, as most of us can attest from life experience.

You may think your children aren’t watching you, but they are.  They won’t say a thing, but they will come to some conclusions.  For example, if you tell them to eat healthy, yet you continually indulge in a high-sugar diet of sodas and donuts and candy, they won’t take you seriously when you offer them carrot sticks and celery.

By the same token, when you say that you believe in the Constitution, and yet you continually vote and support a political party, which provably does not believe in the Constitution, your children and your friends see that.  Your actions speak louder than your words.

For example, if you support only Republican candidates, and worse yet, if you vote straight party Republican, and then defend that action by saying, “I like the principles of the Constitution Party, but they can’t win,” you have just made a leap of illogic which demonstrates to others that you are “going along to get along” and you are a follower of the crowd.  And in doing so, you perpetuate the problem.

We all know that the Republicans have a pretty good platform, but the problem is that they don’t believe in it.  The power elites who rule that party believe in one thing – POWER!  Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac, and those very powerful families will do anything to keep their power, from lying to the voters, to murder.  They are no longer afraid of a voting public that might withhold its vote on the basis of principle – we have become too addicted to the crumbs from their socialist table.  Our “entitlement programs” have become more important to us than our Freedom, more important than whether they are constitutional, or not.

The only reason third parties don’t grow and become a force in the political arena is because most Americans find it easier to just go along with the crowd and not embarrass themselves by standing alone.  Sadly, our children watch this behavior and conclude that this hypocrisy releases them from all social constraint.  So they happily reject parental standards and act out in the most outrageous ways they can think of, just to show that they aren’t buying “conventional wisdom.”  A few of them will even jump off of bridges.

The Democrats are sworn enemies of the Constitution, but at least they are honest enemies – we know where they stand.  Which do you prefer – an honest enemy, or a false friend who will stab you in the back?

Collectively, we are jumping off a bridge when we continue to support a party that says one thing and does another.  Incumbents like John Cornyn and John McCain and Mitch McConnell, to name a few, have sold us down the river with almost every vote they cast, and yet so-called “conservatives” keep re-electing these men who betray their solemn oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Until we get over this convenient lie that says “we have to vote for the lesser of two evils,” we are always going to elect lousy candidates, and they will continue to get worse.

How about we just do the right thing, and let God sort it out?

How about we show our children that we understand that the Constitution is worth standing up for, and we’ll do it even if we’re the only one on the block that does?

The Constitution Party is not perfect – it has human beings in it.  But you can help us make it better by joining now, and bringing your children to meetings, and blazing a trail for them to follow.

We invite you to join the Constitution Party.  Without the big donors like the big parties, your small annual membership fee is our life’s blood.  And as we build the infrastructure, then invite friends to come join us, we will grow.  But we can’t do it without you.
