To all Members and Supporters:

Now is the time for all those who desire to run for office as candidates of the Constitution Party in 2010 to make themselves known to their supporters and to their County or Regional Chairmen.

Here's your timeline:

June 13, 2009 - State Conference, College Station
Dec. 31, 2009 - Deadline for filing candidates with State of Texas
March 13, 2010 - Republican and Democratic Primaries
April 13, 2010 - Primary runoffs
April 14, 2010 - CP ballot access drive begins
Nov. 29, 2010 - General Election

Lest you think you have plenty of time to procrastinate, please bear in mind that there will be no candidates on the ballot in 2010 unless we achieve over 50,000  legitimate names on petitions to Secretary of State, and that has never been done with a small number of petition gatherers.  Our ONLY hope of getting this done is to have a small army of petition gatherers, with county leaders accepting a reasonable quota, and then selling the Vision to their people.  This doesn't happen by itself.  The number IS achievable, if we have 50 teams dedicated to gathering 1,000 names.  That number, 1,000, is a VERY achievable number for two or three people to gather, in one or two weekends of hard, fun work.   But that presupposes some organization -- Captains over five to ten smaller teams of petition gatherers.  County Leadership Teams are our first line of attack - and without them we will never become a party.

The second line of attack on this "Roadblock to the Texas Ballot" is our candidates and their volunteer teams.  For example, if you want to run for State Representative, then you need to run a campaign as if you have every intention of winning.  With or without a large infusion of cash, you can run a viable campaign with a well-organized team of Volunteers.

With ten Captains, each of whom builds a team of ten Lieutenants, each of whom builds a team of ten Sergeants, each of whom builds a team of ten Voters - that will give you 10,000 votes!!!!!!!  (For more information on how this works, see the model at www.IndependentConservativeVoters.com/).  Now, if you can build a team of 10 x 10 x 10 volunteer workers (= 1,000), and if you were to get each of them to fill out ONE PAGE of signatures for ballot access, then you would also provide the Constitution Party 10,000 names!  Only five bona fide candidates could put the Constitution Party on the ballot in 2010.  Can you see yourself being one of those team managers?  You might be the candidate, or if you prefer, you might be the Campaign Manager, for no candidate can succeed without an effective Campaign Manager.  (If you build a team like this, there is a very good chance that you will win your race, so let's not plan for defeat, let's plan for some wins next November!)

If you want to make the pledge, at our State Convention, to run, to manage a campaign, to get a certain number of names on petitions, etc., you need to start NOW, praying and discussing this with ten friends who will help you make it happen.  We'll have a special time to hear those campaign promises.  Please let me or Vice Chairman Daniel New know if you want to make a public pledge at the conference in College Station.

Remember that our theme will be "The Black Regiment" - Pastor Garrett Lear will share how the preachers of 1776 made the difference in our War of Independence.  He will then challenge pastors and active church members to respond to that challenge, by making the difference in 2010.

For the Constitution,

Jim Wade
Chairman
