A little while back, I talked about selling our home of 25 years, and how hard transitions can be. But what you don’t know is how messy the move to our new home has been.
Our old home sold quicker than our new home was ready for us. So we lived in temporary housing for over a month (and moved three times).
(My oldest had to settle for a store-bought GF cake instead of homemade for his 21st birthday, which totally sucked.)
We're now in our new home, but it's still a work-in-progress. And it's impacting my ability to record my podcast.
The plan was to launch Season 6 this week. But unfortunately…
There's too much going on in the house right now (and my new office has terrible acoustics; I've ordered stuff to remedy this problem, but none of it arrives until the end of next week).
So, the Life & Law Season 6 launch is being pushed back.
I debated doing this all last week. I even recorded my first 4 episodes. But the sound, y'all.
That's when I realized I was making the same mistake I coach my clients through all the time:
Rushing to do something when it makes zero sense. Because you committed to doing it.
I learned two things this Summer:
1. Transitions rarely go the way you planned. Accept the messy middle. It's part of the process, and doesn't mean you chose wrong.
2. Knowing when to pause and push something back is just as important as sticking to a commitment. Pushing through when it's not necessary (and honestly, not very good) just to say you did it on time? Pure ego.
Season 6 is coming. Just a little later than planned. And it'll be better for it.
XO,
Heather
