Understanding SAMHSA and OCR Guidance for Telehealth SUD & MH Services, and Update on the CARES Act

This presentation will review guidance released by OCR and SAMHSA about federal patient privacy regulations while providing SUD and MH telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic, and recent changes to federal SUD privacy law introduced in the CARES Act.

Webinar Objectives:
  • Identify recent changes to federal SUD privacy law introduced in the CARES Act
  • Discuss OCR and SAMHSA privacy guidance in response to rapidly expanding telehealth services due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Describe how to access resources and TA provided by the CoE-PHI
