Michael Keller - Junior Don Bosco Prep
In a youth sports world where players bounce from program to program looking for short cuts to improve, Michael has proven that commitment and dedication to a program still exists. Michael has been dedicated to the STACK program all the way back when he was in 5th grade and it was called OBC. You can always find Michael at STACK working out and chasing his goals. He is a disciplined well mannered athlete, who has a work ethic that not only gives him success on the basketball court but is setting him up to be a high level achiever in life. Mike is a role model at STACK, as he teaches many of the younger STACK players. Michael is entering his junior year at Don Bosco and we wish him the best of luck. We are very proud to have an athlete like Michael representing STACK. |

Right now at STACK, we have various different events taking place. This week started our fall AAU basketball season and it has been great to see so many players who want to be a part of the STACK program. Our STACK basketball players have options to come to practices and training up to 7 days a week and many of them are taking advantage of the flexibility to get extra work in. The fall season is also a very good time for players to attend private basketball training, our Basketball Skills Academy and/or sports performance training classes to prepare for the winter season.

In this day and age where parents often want to reach out to coaches to discuss their child's sports matters we have come up with a great learning opportunity for our players. Of course we welcome to talk to parents about all topics regarding their children BUT more importantly we explain to our parents they should encourage their child to talk to the coach in person. This serves a tremendous growth opportunity not only for the child's athletic experience but for he/she as a young individual. The coaches at STACK are always available to talk to the players about ways to improve, decisions that are being made for the team or any other things we feel we can help our players become better people. |

There is only one way to improve in sports and that is to work at it all the time. Attending 2 practices per week with your team for 1 hour is not enough to improve. Athletes that excel set up a routine and stick to it for an extended period of time. A realistic routine for a youth athlete would be to dedicate 4 days per week to the sport they are trying to improve at. On the off days of practice players need to train and work on their skills. You can certainly take private training or group skills training classes BUT there is no substitute for working a few days on your own when no one is watching. It is a simple receipt for success not only in sports but in life. If you want to be great a something you have to put in the time and effort practicing it.

We are very excited about our new Coach, Joe Feinberg. Coach Joe is a very enthusiastic and energetic coach that has a great way of teaching and demonstrating his basketball skill to our STACK players. Joe played varsity basketball at Don Bosco then went on to play 4 years of college basketball at Drew University. Joe was a 4 year starter and 2 year captain at Drew. Alongside of coaching AAU teams at STACK, Joe will be doing private and group sessions as well. We are sure you will see him around and he is looking forward to it!
