Ryan Tremblay Director/Head Coach
|
|
Our Head Coach Ryan Tremblay
brings over 30 years of basketball experience to the STACK program. Coach
Tremblay was a 1st Team All-Decade basketball player in
Bergen County for his stellar career at Mahwah High School during the
1990's, where he finished in the top 20 all-time leading scorers in the
county's history and with his name on the Mahwah High School Wall of
Fame.
Coach Ryan then went on to Caldwell University on a basketball scholarship where he was a part of 3 championship teams. He
was a 2-time All-Metropolitan, All-State and All-Conference point guard
and the all-time 3 point leader in the schools history. His standout 4
year basketball career landed him in the Caldwell Universtity Athletic Hall of Fame. He was lucky enough to have learned team basketball from legendary Coach Mark Corino, who is the 2nd winning est coach in New Jersey college history.
Coach
Ryan Tremblay has combined his relentless work ethic as a youth
basketball player, with his deep understanding of team basketball from
his success at the college level, to help STACK players prepare for high
school basketball.

Devon Stanberry Assistant Coach/Trainer
|
|
Standing at 5 foot 9 inches Devon Stanberry wasn't always the tallest but had the biggest heart. As a player he had a unique combination of fundamental sound, speed, power and a unquenchable competitive desire. This passion to become a great basketball player has now transpired into coaching young players.
Growing up in Jersey City New Jersey attended st. Mary's High School where he played for the legendary Hudson County coach Tom Lalicato. Devon was a tremendous high school player scoring over 1,800 points, was a 2 time 1st team all county choice, a 1st team all state selection and was named the Hudson County player of the year as a senior. He also played for one of the best AAU programs in the country, the Patterson Playaz. While playing for the Playaz Devon was fortunate to play the highest level of high school basketball with many future NBA players.
Devon went on to earn a full scholarship to Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington Delaware. In college Devon was a 2-time all conference player, as well as a 1st team all-region selection. When asking Devon’s college coach Chuck Hammond about him he said, “In my 13 years or coaching if I had to say one player I had that would be a coach I would say Devon.” “And he will do it with a smile on his face."

Suzanne Johnson-Gallo Head Girls Coach/Trainer
|
|
Johnson was the first
female athlete from Lyndhurst to play Division I collegiate basketball. During
her high school career, Johnson was awarded the honors of First Team All
County, First team All Area and (Player of the Year (Bergen Record) Johnson has also earned
herself the honor of being inducted into the Lyndhurst High School Hall of
Fame.
As a full
scholarship recipient at Division I Monmouth College, Johnson took her
defensive specialty at blocking shots to the next level. Johnson set many Monmouth
College/University and Division I NCAA records which are still in standing
today. At Monmouth, Johnson holds the
record of the North East Conference Single Season Blocked Shots (117) and the
record of the Most Blocked Shots – Career (#2 @ 269).
Basketball
was not Johnson’s only collegiate success. Johnson completed her studies in
Elementary Education and Special Education and graduated magna cum laude and an
active member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education. Johnson
continued her graduate studies and completed her master’s degree in
Communication Science and Disorders, with additional certifications as a Learning
Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDT-C) and Supervisor.
Johnson has coached with the elite
coaching staff at Paramus Catholic and Bergen County Technical
High School where she turned the program around.
Coach Johnson
Gallo believes in “teaching the player—not teaching the plays. Fundamentally
sound instruction is the basis for all strong development and is critical in
producing long term success.” As a
mother, teacher, and coach, Johnson Gallo will always say that her overall
goals are very clear. She wants to be a positive catalyst in “developing self-confident,
well rounded, daughters/sons, students and athletes. The success felt and lessons
taught on the court go way beyond the end of the season.”

| Doug Blake Assistant Coach/Trainer
Coach
Doug Blake graduated from Mahwah High School in 1980 where his team was
the first to win a Sectional/North State championship in school
history. Doug is a 1000 point scorer at Mahwah and one of the top
all-time leaders in assists and steals. Doug was a 2 time first team all
league selection, as well as 1st Team All-County. Doug's stellar high
school basketball and baseball career was recognized, as his name
appears on the Mahwah Wall of Fame.
Doug
went on to play 4 years of basketball at Moravian College where he
played on the one of the greatest teams in school history. Doug finished
2nd all-time in assists, 2nd all-time in games played and one of the
top foul shooters in the schools history. Once again Doug's tremendous
college basketball career landed him in Moravian's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Doug has coached basketball in town travel, AAU and at Ramsey High
School where he currently runs the Ramsey's basketball program in the off
season.

| | Adam Szuch Sports Performance Coach
Coach
Adam played three years of basketball for Pascack Hills High School
where he was a part of a team that won the State Sectional championship. Coach Adam is a NSCA
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has been training athletes
of all ages since 2006, over 4,500 classes taught at a Velocity Sports
Performance.
Coach Adam has worked with professional athletes such as:
Martellus Bennet, Ryan Grant, Mike
Stanton and Rob Carson to name a few.
Coach Adam is the current
Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback/Wide Receiver Coach at Mahwah High
School, where he has coached for 8 years. He is a Substitute teacher in
the Mahwah School District, certified in Health and Physical Education.
Coach Adam earned his degree from Kean University where he played defensive back for the Kean University Football Team. |
