Hello Everyone,

A couple of quick things this week.

Dashboards:

Last week I mentioned that I was working on creating Dashboards. Well I'm happy to say that they are in place. The website covers a lot of information for many different types of interests so as time goes on it will get harder and harder to find what your looking for. I have a membership at a great website that is geared toward developers and I can never find anything when I'm looking for it. Search box technology, for any form of website, still leaves a lot to be desired so I thought that Dashboards would be a better solution. May as well nip it in the bud. On a big site, having to deal with empty search returns or menus and sub menus and sub sub menus, it's just frustrating.

The Dashboards may look a little empty right now but as the new and reorganized content gets added, another button will be added to the Dashboard. This way, when you log in, everything wili be front and center for you to be able to go directly to whatever you're looking for. I am committing to having at least one new button per week until the online resource is finished.

Have a look when you have a chance and let me know how it's working for you.

You know that this resource is for you so don't hesitate to send suggestions. If the suggestion is attainable, I'll make it happen. If it isn't I'll tell you why and propose some alternatives.

For Example...

Images:

A member mentioned to me about how much time it takes to search for and find appropriate images, even if just for blog posts. I completely agree, but it's the nature of the beast. There are some alternatives, like stock image sites but as you have probably already found out, that can get very expensive. So I've been looking around for a solution.

I was able to make a couple of volume buys on stock photos. I don't do this often because I never know what I'm getting. Well luckily almost all of the images are HD (at least 1920px) in one or the other dimension. So, I started adding image galleries of stock photos to the member's area at RMSEO. These are royalty free HD stock images that you can use for whatever purpose that you'd like. There's a couple of hundred images broken into about a half dozen galleries in two photo albums now. The bad news is that I quickly found out why Stock Photo sites cost so much per picture. Due to the amount of disk space, bandwidth, the time involved in sorting and creating galleries and the purchase cost, I'm afraid that I have to charge for them. I believe that if you can find something usable the time you save will be well worth the $1 fee for an immediate download. This should offset the cost of providing them. If I find that they aren't of use to you I'll take them down. I'm committing to at least one gallery per week so check during week or wait till I announce the new category(s) in the newsletter.

Having to churn all of these huge images has slowed the site a bit so be patient. When 6 Photo Albums are up I will optimize and bring the speed back.

Let's see how it goes.
If there are any image categories that you'd like me to prioritize, let me know and I'll see what I can gather up.

Lots going on at RMSEO right now to make it the website owners dream that they never knew could exist or were afraid to ask...or whatever that saying is.

I haven't forgotten about the webinar. There's more to set up than meets the eye but that's moving along too.

Keep them blogs and sites rollin' and have a great weekend,
