THE WIZ is a 1978 American musical adventure fantasy film directed by Sidney Lumet. A reimagining of L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 children's novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" featuring an all African-American cast, the film was adapted from the 1974 Broadway musical of the same title.

A merry mash-up of sisterly affection, parental disappointment and bold action, POLITE SOCIETY follows martial artist-in-training Ria Khan who believes she must save her older sister Lena from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.

"Everything – from the writing to the cinematography, the performances, the choreography and the soundtrack – is on point." — BBC

"Blending a heightened sense of reality with martial-arts moves and heist movie tropes, Polite Society... is a joyful romp all its own." — Vox

Director / Writer: Nida Manzoor

Cast: Priya Kansara, Ritu Arya, Renu Brindle
