Ithaca's Member Supported Independent Movie Theater

| Greetings, Cinemapolitans,
In response to the recent confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tompkins County, and out of deep care and concern for our wonderful cinema community, the board and I have made the difficult decision to close the theater effective Sunday, March 15 through at least Thursday, April 9.
All scheduled programming during that time is cancelled.

This decision has been reached after much deliberation and in acknowledgement of the theater’s role as a regional destination. We draw customers from a 50-mile radius and beyond and provide a community gathering place with regular high-volume foot traffic.
Despite having recently implemented precautionary measures including increased sanitation and reduced seating capacity, we believe the best course of action at this time is a temporary closure. By voluntarily closing, Cinemapolis is prioritizing the health and safety of customers, staff, and the community at large, including vulnerable populations.
Throughout the closure, Cinemapolis will continue to accept memberships and financial contributions. However, please be aware that that delivery of membership cards may be delayed due to current circumstances. Your support is especially appreciated during this time and will help the cinema to reopen with minimal disruption as soon as it is prudent to do so.
I can't say how much I appreciate our staff and our community’s patience and understanding during this time. I look forward to resuming business and welcoming all our Cinemapolitans back to the theater upon reopening!
