Greetings, Cinemapolitans!
For back-to-school time, we're adding TWO new openers this Friday:
  • Spanish filmmaker Isabel Coixet (Learning to Drive) returns to our screens with the 50s English romance, The Bookshop. The brilliant cast includes Patricia Clarkson, Bill Nighy, and Emily Mortimer as the war widow who attempts to improve her rural village by opening the titular store. Jonathan Holland of the Hollywood Reporter says "Its subversive undercurrent, embodied in fine performances by Emily Mortimer and Bill Nighy, is what makes it really interesting."

  • The work of Nick Hornby gets adapted for the screen again in Juliet, Naked. Rose Byrne, Ethan Hawke, and Chris O'Dowd star in an unlikely love triangle between a forgotten folk rocker, a fanboy film professor, and his long-suffering anthropologist girlfriend.  David Edelstein of NY Magazine says "It’s everything a...rom-com should be but no longer is — literate, unpredictable, full of bustling tangents."
While you're planning your next week at the movies, be sure to get in soon to catch Far From The Tree. Its limited engagement ends THIS Thursday, September 6th!
 See you at the movies!
