Greetings, Cinemapolitans!

A busy 10 days are in front of us. In addition to two new movies, the coming week is filled with special events.

I'm excited to bring the final work of Japanese master animator, Hayao Miyazaki, to Ithaca. The Wind Rises adds Miyazaki's flair of fantasy to the life story of a World War II era fighter plane designer. Critics are calling it his "most fascinating and beguiling" work.

Also coming on Friday, a quirky investigation of the place where art, science, and magic meet. Magician/Con-men duo, Penn & Teller present one inventor's obsession to understand the painting techniques of a Dutch master in Tim's Vermeer. Definitely NOT your everyday documentary.

Special events coming up include tonight's Currency & Community presentation of Money & Life, two screenings of National Theatre Live: War Horse (Thursday night and Saturday afternoon), Friday's screening of You're In Charge with film maker Tom Krueger, AND next Tuesday - the debut of an exciting new series of advance screenings from the New York Film Critics.

The events are moderated by Peter Travers, film critic for Rolling Stone Magazine. The Series presents live, interactive, in-theater; pre-release movies and big screen HD simulcast with the stars and filmmakers. Breathe In screens one night only - Tuesday, March 25 @ 7:30 - with  live appearances by Felicity Jones, Director Drake Doremus, Guy Pierce remotely, and Amy Ryan.

New additions to the line up mean that more favorites will be leaving. You only have a few more chances to see Better Living Through Chemistry, Gloria, Stranger by the Lake, and The Wolf of Wall Street. They all close on Thursday!

See you at the movies!
