Greetings, Cinemapolitans!

The big news broke this morning - ALL SEVEN of our current films have been nominated for Academy Awards—a total of 44 nominations among them! To celebrate, they're ALL being held over for another week of screenings.

And, speaking of celebrations - don't forget to SAVE THE DATE for our Annual "And The Winner Is..." Gala event on SUNDAY, MARCH 4th. The big awards will be on the big screen, and you can enjoy great food from Ithaca's top restaurants as well as chances to take home prizes of your own. More details and ticket sales coming soon!

We do have some other special events on the way, as well, so pay close attention to this week's schedule of showtimes!

Rory Kinnear is Marx and Oliver Chris is Engels, in Young Marx, a new comedy written by Richard Bean and Clive Coleman. Broadcast live from The Bridge Theatre, London, the production is directed by Nicholas Hytner and reunites the creative team behind Broadway and West End hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors. 1850, and Europe’s most feared terrorist is hiding in Dean Street, Soho.  Young Marx screens at Cinemapolis on Thursday, January 25 at 6:30 pm and again on Saturday, January 27th at 1:30 pm.

Our friends from Ithaca Fantastik are back again with their second Fantastik Friday of the year. This time, it's the sci-fi/supernatural mash-up, Devil's Gate, featuring This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia. Don't miss this one night only screening on Friday, January 26 at 9:30!

Press Play is a new joint program between the Kitchen Theatre Company and Cinemapolis that puts a currently running play in conversation with a film exploring similar themes. This 3-part series will include screenings of select films paired with the Kitchen’s productions of Ironbound, Bright Half Life, and Matt & Ben. Following each screening, audiences are invited to stay for a conversation led by Kitchen Theatre artists.

The series kicks off on Tuesday, January 30th at 7 pm with a special screening of Lars von Trier's award-winning Dancer in the Dark. M. Bevin O’Gara, the director of Ironbound and Producing Artistic Director of the Kitchen Theatre, will be leading the post-screening conversation with Kate MacCluggage, one of the stars of the play.
featuring post-show Q & A w/
Dr. Maureen Hanson and
Dr. Betsy Keller

Twenty-eight year-old Jennifer Brea is working on her PhD at Harvard and months away from marrying the love of her life when she gets a mysterious fever that leaves her bedridden and looking for answers. Disbelieved by doctors yet determined to live, she turns her camera on herself and discovers a hidden world of millions confined to their homes and bedrooms by ME, commonly known as chronic fatigue syndrome.

Following the screening, there will be an audience discussion led by Professor Maureen Hanson (Cornell University, Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics) and Professor Betsy Keller (Ithaca College, Department of Exercise and Sports Science).

 See you at the movies!
