Greetings Cinemapolitans!

It's a week full of hold-overs, with our slate of awards contenders continuing to run on all five screens. Also in the mix are a handful of special event screenings, including another SOLD OUT National Theatre Live presentation of Hamlet on Saturday, December 5.
On Sunday, December 6th at 4 pm, we welcome filmmaker Diana C. Frank for a screening of her deeply personal documentary, For the Life of Me: Between Science and the Law. In it, Frank follows her sister's journey through an at times hazardous path to starting her own human trial of cannabis as a cancer treatment. The director will lead a talk-back after the screening. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes
Another benefit screening follows on Tuesday, December 8th at 7pm. The SPCA of Tompkins County will be on hand for the screening of The Elephant in the Living Room. The documentary takes viewers on a journey deep inside the controversial American subculture of raising the most dangerous animals in the world as common household pets. Dr. Carolyn McMaster of Briarpatch Veterinary Hospital will lead a post-show discussion.
Then on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:15 pm, the Olive Branch Film Series wraps up their first year of films with a screening of The Inner Tour.  In it, documentarian Ra'anan Alexandrowicz accompanies a Palestinian tour group on a three-day sight-seeing trip to Israel. As always, a moderated discussion will follow the screening.
Because of all these special events, regular screenings will be pre-empted nightly. Please read this week's schedule carefully.
 See you at the movies!
