Greetings, Cinemapolitans:
Before we get into the coming week's exciting line-up, just one note. Award season has arrived, and we've had MANY sold-out screenings over the past week. We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to showtime to avoid lines at the box office and to guarantee a seat at your desired show

With that out of the way, we're excited to welcome a new title this Friday from a Spanish master:
  • Winner of several awards at this year's Cannes Film Festival, Pain & Glory is a semi-autobiographical turn from Spanish auteur, Pedro Almodóvar. IndieWire's Eric Kohn says it's "the filmmaker’s best and most personal movie in years."

There's also a pack of special event screenings on the way, including the latest installment of a new series TONIGHT:
THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE
co-presented with Bike Walk Tompkins

Cinemapolis and Bike Walk Tompkins continue our new monthly bike movie series with the return of the award-winning French animated hit, The Triplets of Belleville.

When her grandson is kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved pooch Bruno team up with the Belleville Sisters–an aged song-and-dance team from the days of Fred Astaire–to rescue him.

Don't miss this one-night return to the big screen TONIGHT at 7 pm

Premiering in cinemas for a limited run, Leonardo: The Works is part of the global celebration marking the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death.
Leonardo’s peerless paintings are at the core of Leonardo: The Works, captured in staggering high-definition as never seen in cinemas – until now. Notably, the film presents every single painting attributed to Leonardo, offering unparalleled access for the first time. Amidst this collection of masterpieces, cinema-goers will marvel at The Last Supper, Lady with an Ermine, Ginevra de’ Benci, Madonna Litta, Virgin of the Rocks and what is widely considered the most famous artwork of all time – The Mona Lisa.

Working with top international museums and galleries, EXHIBITION ON SCREEN create films which offer a cinematic immersion into the world’s best loved art, accompanied by insights from the world’s leading historians and arts critics. Since launching in 2011, EXHIBITION ON SCREEN have released 19 films which have been shown in over 61 countries worldwide.

Our Friends from Ithaca Fantastik are switching it up this fall with a series of special Saturday night screenings that will transport you through the decades for some truly unique genre hits. It continues with the newly restored "gore cut" of the 90s schlock-fest, Tammy and the T-Rex! A campy good time on screen for ONE NIGHT ONLY - Saturday, November 16 at 9:30!

The Family Classics Picture Show introduces the magic of cinema to parents and kids with a year-long series of 10 fun and affordable Sunday matinees.

The series is made possible by lead sponsor The Ainslie Reilly Group at Morgan Stanley, with additional support from Mama Goose.
While you're planning your next week at the movies, get in soon to catch Downton Abbey. The Crawleys have their last screenings THIS Thursday, November 14th.

 See you at the movies!
