Greetings, Cinemapolitans!

After a stunning opening weekend for Dear White People and Pride, we're adding just one new film this Friday, just in time for Halloween:
  • Daniel Radcliffe continues his post-Potter career transformation with a turn in the fable/horror/romance mash-up, Horns. Helmed by French horror master Alexandre Aja (High Tension) and based on the novel by Joe Hill (a/k/a Stephen King's son), this TIFF hit tracks the decline of Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), as he becomes the town pariah--and grows devilish horns--after the mysterious death of his girlfriend. Twist in strong performances from David Morse and indie sweetheart  Juno Temple, and you get what Matt Mueller of Total Film calls "Sweetness and splatter, romance and horror, comedy, fantasy... Alexandre Aja's movie boldly mixes flavours, to satisfying effect." Sounds like a bit of trick and treat for a holiday weekend.

Next week wraps up with a very special screening at 7pm on Thursday, November 6th. In celebration of writer/director Neil LaBute, we partner with THE READERS’ THEATRE OF ITHACA (RTI) to jointly present his debut film IN THE COMPANY OF MEN, two weeks prior to the RTI production of the LaBute's one-man play WRECKS (running November 21-23 only). There will be an introduction to the film by Anne Marie Cummings, Artistic Director of RTI. Cummings will answer questions following the film. All tickets just $7 for the one-time screening event.

We're cleaning house a bit this weekend, so get in soon if you haven't yet seen Kill The Messenger, Men, Women & Children, or My Old Lady. They all leave on Thursday!

See you at the movies!
