Greetings, Cinemapolitans:
We're kicking off another week of films with one new opener and a SPECIAL 3 day only theatrical engagement of a small screen favorite:
  • The continuing exploits of Jesse Pinkman hit the big screen for 3 days only when El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie joins us for a special limited theatrical engagement. Picking up right where the award-winning series left off, the film is sure to please die-hard fans and new converts. It screens from Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13.

  • Oscar Winner Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty) turns his lens on the decadent tenure of Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi in LoroA.O. Scott of the NY Times says "it might be a portent of things to come, as filmmakers try to frame the legacies of leaders who succeed through shamelessness."

There's also TONIGHT'S special screening of ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band from Texas AND some festival friends are back at it over the next few days with special screenings you shouldn't miss:
Our Friends from Ithaca Fantastik are switching it up this fall with a series of special Saturday night screenings that will transport you through the decades for some truly unique genre hits. They kick it off with the 1964 giallo thriller, Blood and Black Lace. See what many regard as the progenitor of the slasher genre beautifully restored for ONE NIGHT ONLY - Saturday, October 12 at 9:30!
2019 marks the sixth annual celebration of Latin American filmmakers from all over the continent, and the official festival selection for this year includes critically-acclaimed and award-winning films from seven different countries.

The festival wraps up its screenings at Cinemapolis with two upcoming events - Las Herederas from Paraguay on THIS Thursday, October 10 at 7pm, followed by Peruvian documentary Maxima on Sunday, October 13 at 2pm.
While you're planning your next week at the movies, get in soon to catch Wrinkles the Clown. It has its last screenings THIS Thursday, October 10th.

 See you at the movies!
