Greetings Cinemapolitans!

This year marks an important milestone in Ithaca’s love affair with great cinema. Cinemapolis is celebrating our 10th anniversary at our “new” home on Green Street. And what a decade it’s been! Thanks to the dedication of valued supporters like you, Cinemapolis is now one of upstate’s premiere non-profit film centers—a state-of-the-art facility providing access to the best the art-form has to offer for diverse audiences from throughout Tompkins County and beyond.

A quick “by the numbers” look shows how much we’ve been able to accomplish in just the past year—

6,180 film screenings featuring:
  • 8 locally produced film festivals
  • 30 collaborations with community groups and non-profits
  • 38 films directed by women
  • 270 films from 30 nations and in 18 languages
We need your help to ensure that our next 10 years are just as eventful! Won’t you join our board and hundreds more community members in supporting Cinemapolis? Since ticket sales cover less than 75% of our operating expenses, the continued success of Ithaca’s community cinema would not be possible without the ongoing assistance of our faithful “Cinemapolitans.”

Please consider an “Anniversary Gift” to this year’s annual fund by adding 10% to your usual contribution and help us reach our year-end target of $110,000. The next decade is sure to bring exciting changes to our cinema and our community. It’s inspiring to know that patrons like you will be here to help us realize our vision of Cinemapolis as a dynamic cultural institution that serves Ithaca and the entire region.
We don’t expect you to attend all 270 films we’ll be offering in 2020, but isn’t it great to know that there are so many diverse choices? Thank you again for supporting independent cinema and the art of film in our community.

Happy New Year!
