Greetings, Cinemapolitans,

Another exciting weekend of in theater AND virtual cinema offerings is on the way. If you haven't been to our virtual platform lately, be sure to click over soon to check out the new and incredibly timely entry, What We Left Unfinished, Utterly unique in film history, Mariam Ghani's archival marvel is a probing and engrossing case study in censorship, authoritarianism, and political art. It looks closely at the era of state-funded Afghan filmmaking during the country’s Communist era, bringing together dozens of writers, actors, and filmmakers to discuss five unfinished, unedited projects produced between 1978 and 1991. Don't miss this one of a kind doc!

AND be sure to join us on Friday night to join team Miyagi-do or team Cobra Kai! Movies in the Park comes INSIDE to Cinemapolis for their last show of the season—the 1984 classic, The Karate Kid!

We also have two new additions to our in theater slate this weekend, so you'll want to get in before then to catch Demonic and Ema. Their final screenings roll on Thursday, August 26th!

Cinemapolis at Home

We're keeping a close eye on local conditions relating to the spread of COVID-19 and transmission of the Delta variant in our community. Following CDC guidance, and aligning with recent advisories from the Tompkins County Department of Health, we are continuing to require facemasks for ALL patrons, regardless of vaccination status, in all common areas of the cinema.

Patrons may remove their masks when seated and enjoying snacks in their screening room. Seating in each auditorium is limited to 50% of total capacity to allow patrons to sufficiently distance their party from other guests.

Hope to see you at the movies again soon!
