Subject: 🎥 Cinemapolis - A tense beachside thriller and the return of two Oscar hopefuls on 2/4!

Greetings, Cinemapolitans!

Don't forget to keep an eye on our website to get the latest info on detours to get to the cinema. During the current phase of utility installation for the Asteri Ithaca project, the Green Street Crosswalk has re-opened, and all patrons should enter the cinema from the South using that method.

Access from the north (The Commons) will be blocked, so patrons should follow the Commons to Cayuga Street and cross at the library. If you need to drop off another patron, there are passenger drop off parking spaces across the street in front off Urban Outfitters.

We have one new film and two returning Oscar hopefuls coming weekend, so you should get in soon to catch Belle, Clean, and The Velvet Queen. They have their final screenings on Thursday, February 3rd!

In his acclaimed debut as a filmmaker, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson presents a powerful and transporting documentary—part music film, part historical record created around an epic event that celebrated Black history, culture and fashion. Over the course of six weeks in the summer of 1969, just one hundred miles south of Woodstock, The Harlem Cultural Festival was filmed in Mount Morris Park (now Marcus Garvey Park).

Featuring never-before-seen concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Mahalia Jackson, B.B. King, The 5th Dimension and more, it's back on the big screen for a limited engagement!

DIRECTOR: Questlove

We're keeping a close eye on local conditions relating to the spread of COVID-19 and transmission of the Omicron variant in our community. Following guidance from the CDC, Governor Hochul's office, and the Tompkins County Department of Health, we are continuing to require facemasks for ALL patrons and staff, regardless of vaccination status, throughout the cinema.

Patrons may remove their masks when seated and enjoying snacks in their screening room. Seating in each auditorium continues to be limited to 50% of total capacity to allow patrons to sufficiently distance their party from other guests.

Find out more about the safety of the movie-going experience in this new study on cinema ventilation.

Hope to see you at the movies again soon!
