Lonesome River Band Album Release Show! 

Join us on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at The Barn at Chantilly Farm in Floyd, Virginia for an album release party and live show from the internationally renowned, Lonesome River Band! The band will play selections from their soon to be released new album, 'Bridging the Tradition', along with many of the classics that you've come to love!

Showtime is 7pm with general admission seating in The Barn at Chantilly Farm, so get there early for a great seat! Tickets are available online for the advance price of $15 and tickets at the door will be $20. But, get yours now, because we expect this show to be a sell out!

Lonesome River Band continues their reputation as one of the most respected names in bluegrass music. Led by five-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Banjo Player of the Year and Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer Sammy Shelor, the group holds a powerhouse line up of award-winning players including vocalist and songwriter Brandon Rickman on guitar, Mike Hartgrove on fiddle, Barry Reed on bass and Jesse Smathers on mandolin and vocals. This is the first new release from the band since the incredible success of their last album, 'Turn On A Dime', which was released by Mountain Home Music Company and cemented itself as on of the Top 10 Bluegrass Albums in the country!

Lonesome River Band’s enduring career includes 17 albums, three of which were released in 2012 in celebration of the group’s 30th anniversary. The band received the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award for Instrumental Recorded Event of the Year for their song “Angeline the Baker” from their CHRONOLOGY Volume One album along with Sammy Shelor taking home his fifth win as the 2012 IBMA Banjo Performer of the Year. Lonesome River Band has received other awards from IBMA including Album of the Year, along with numerous awards from SPBGMA including being named Bluegrass Band of Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year and Shelor as Banjo Player of the Year. Sammy Shelor received the 2nd Annual Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass. In honor of this award, Lonesome River Band with special guest Steve Martin made an appearance and performed on the Late Show with David Letterman on November 11, 2011.

For decades, Lonesome River Band has continued to set the standard in the bluegrass music world. ServSafe Class Being Held at The Barn at Chantilly Farm in March 

Learn basic food safety practices for preparing and serving food. This is a must for volunteers who handle food at community events or for those who are simply interested in learning more about safe food handling practices! Earn your food handler certificate from the foodservice experts!

A training session will be held at The Barn at Chantilly Farm, located at 2697 Franklin Pike in Floyd, on Monday March 14 from 9am until 5pm. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch. 

For those interested in volunteering for food service at Chantilly Farm events, we may be able to waive the fee. If this interests you, please contact Julie Weddle at (540)493-7370.

Planning Underway for County Fair's 10th Anniversary

A variety of groups and individuals have come together in an effort to continue developing new and exciting activites and opportunities for the 10th anniverary of the Floyd Livestock and County Fair, now being held each September at Chantilly Farm. 

An official advisory board has been created to spearhead the planning process and all who have an interest in any aspect of the Fair are encouraged to take part in the monthly meetings. To be added to a list of invitees, call Julie Weddle at (540)493-7370 or email

'Tour de Dirt' Being Planned for Chantilly Farm in November 
A group of regional mountain biking enthusiasts, led by Floyd Countian Paul Sullivan, are planning the 10th anniversary of their Tour de Dirt event on Sunday, November 6, 2016. This year the high-endurance race will begin at end at Chantilly Farm in Floyd. More information will be available in the coming months.

Floyd Auto Fair to Return June 3-5 and August 19-21 

The Floyd Auto Fair, presented by Chasing SS Cars of Willis, will return to Chantilly Farm on June 3-5 and August 19-21, 2016. The weekend-long classic car event has grown by leaps and bounds each year and draws visitors from all over the East Coast. Make plans to join us for this family-friendly event--admission is $6 daily with kids 12 and under admitted for free. 

A judged car show takes place on Saturday with cruise-in opportunities throughout the weekend, one of the region's largest parts swaps, memorabilia, vintage signs, pinup contest and more! Trophies are awarded in a variety of categories.

Annual Gospel Jubilee Returning on Saturday June 11

Internationally renowned Grammy and Dove award winner, Jason Crabb, will return as the host for the 3rd Annual Gospel Jubilee at Chantilly Farm on Saturday, June 11th. Tickets for this one-day event will go on sale March 1st at .
