Bluegrass Festival Draws Fans from Around the Country

Bluegrass fans from all over the country gathered at Chantilly Farm in Floyd County over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the coming of summer at our 8th Annual Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. The national level lineup featured some of the biggest bands in bluegrass including Balsam Range, Seldom Scene, Larry Cordle, Lonesome River Band, Junior Sisk, Love Canon, Kenny and Amanda Smith, Volume Five, Breaking Grass and many more.

Despite some rain early in the day on Saturday, attendance at the three day festival was one the largest to date. Activities throughout the weekend included arts and crafts vendors, cornhole, childrens activities, a variety of food vendors, jamming, camping and more.

"We can't thank folks enough for their ongoing support of this event and this year we hosted guests from as far away as Canada and California, many visiting our part of Virginia for the very first time," commented festival promoter, Jason Gallimore.

The festival was one of only 23 festivals in the State of Virginia to be included as part of this year's Virginia is for Music Lovers grant initiative sponsored by the Virginia Department of Tourism. In it's eighth year, the festival is attracting national attention on the bluegrass scene and hosted more weekend campers than ever before.

There was even a marriage proposal on stage! (photo below)

There's no doubt that it was our best festival yet and we appreciate all of the fans, sponsors, bands, volunteers and staff for making it possible.
