Subject: TODAY - Online Meeting with Suli & Avner

Dear Friends of CfP,

As we witness the horrific starvation in Gaza, the increasing violence and displacement in the West Bank, the fear for the remaining Israeli hostages and the despair for Palestinian political prisoners - the cycle of trauma and pain feels endless. As a binational movement of Israeli and Palestinian nonviolent activists we hold onto this community as a source of light and hope.

So this is a reminder to join us for a personal and intimate gathering with two of the co-founders of this movement who exemplify the values of justice, peace and solidarity.

An Exclusive Conversation with Israeli & Palestinian Co-founders

Avner Wishnitzer & Sulaiman Khatib

TODAY: August 5 - 8:00pm Jerusalem time (online)

Avner Wishnitzer is an academic, historian, peace activist and former Israeli soldier in the special forces who refused to serve in the Occupied Territories during the 2nd Intifada.

Sulaiman Khatib is a former fighter in the armed resistance against the occupation and was sentenced to 15 years in prison at the age of 14. In prison, Suli learnt about nonviolent resistance and transformed his way of thinking and approach to achieving freedom and justice for his people.

We will hear their personal stories and how they came to create Combatants for Peace nearly 20 years ago. We will also have an opportunity to discuss your questions and the movement today.

We look forward to meeting you and growing this powerful community. If you have not done so already, you may join the silent whatsapp group for regular updates from our team in Israel/Palestine, future events and community building opportunities.

In solidarity and hope,

Carly Rosenthal
