Cultivating Young Leadership

Featuring:

Ya'ara, Sana, and Farah, three Young Leaders from Creativity for Peace

Sulaiman Khatib and Chen Alon, CfP activists

Creativity for Peace and Combatants for Peace work on the ground in Israel and Palestine. Both organizations share similar strategies to end the Israeli occupation and bring a peaceful future to both peoples.

While Combatants for Peace acts to break from the narrow, militaristic narratives that feed into the cycle of fear, hatred and violence through personal storytelling sessions and nonviolent civil resistance work bringing Israelis and Palestinians together, Creativity for Peace works exclusively with young women starting at age 15, facilitating as well deeply transformational encounters between Israelis and Palestinians. From this meaningful three week immersion each summer in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the young women return home and continue in a leadership training program for a full year. With more than 300 alumnae, many sharing their stories of hope for a different future and continued advanced leadership training, the young women of Creativity for Peace truly are the face of future leadership in the region.

The virtual event will open with 30 minutes of live music by local musician, Issa Noor, whose instrumental music is inspired by the Middle East.
