Dear Friends,
Today is Yom HaShoah in Israel, a day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust. It is a difficult day that asks us all to reflect on a dark period in history, and on the responsibility we carry to remember, and to choose a different future.
While we recognize suffering and grief, we choose not to compare one another’s pain. Instead, we have built a community grounded in seeing each other’s humanity and in the belief that we can change the course of history. When we look around us now, we see displacement, oppression, occupation, and violence. But we also know that the day after will come, and that we are creating it together.
There is nothing more important than community in peacebuilding, and you can be part of something meaningful from wherever you are. The Israeli–Palestinian Joint Memorial Ceremony, organized together with the Parents Circle – Families Forum, will take place next week on April 20th. Screenings are being held in cities around the world, and you can register to join one near you. Click a city in the link below to find a screening and learn how to take part. |
