Dear Friend,
As we continue marking twenty years of Combatants for Peace, we'd like to invite you to share this milestone with us in the most meaningful way we know: by spending time with Palestinian and Israeli activists and experiencing our work where it happens.
From 2–4 November, we invite you to join us in the West Bank for our annual olive harvest. For many Palestinian families, the olive harvest is far more than an agricultural tradition. It is a vital source of income, a connection to generations of family history, and an affirmation of their right to remain on and cultivate their land. In recent years, access to olive groves has become increasingly difficult due to settler violence, movement restrictions, and insecurity, making the presence of international supporters more important than ever.
During the week, you'll spend time with people like Souli and Chen, two of our founders whose friendship has shaped Combatants for Peace from the very beginning. They will share how secret meetings between former Palestinian fighters and former Israeli soldiers following the Second Intifada grew into a movement that few believed would survive. Twenty years later, after everything they have lived through together - war, occupation, and unimaginable personal and collective grief - they remain partners in the same struggle for human rights, equality, and peace. Their story is one of many that have shaped this movement over the past twenty years - stories of trust, enduring friendships, and a shared belief that another way is possible. |
