Subject: Israeli government attacks our Memorial Day Ceremony

Dear Friend,
Yesterday, the Israeli government canceled all the permits for our Palestinian partners to attend our Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Ceremony on May 7th. But we are not giving up! We won this court battle last year - and we with determination and effort, we can do so again! We've hired a lawyer and will be taking this matter to the Supreme Court this week.
Despite our use of volunteers whenever possible (as ushers, cleaning crews, etc.) the costs threaten to reach close to 860,000 shekels this year. In addition to our new legal fees, security costs have more than doubled. Last year right-wing protesters hid in the nearby parking lots and attacked Ceremony attendees on the way back to their cars. This year, in order to protect grieving families from violence and abuse, we bought the use of the nearby parking lots for the evening so that we can station security guards throughout the area. Without the funds to cover this extra cost, we run the risk of violence at this most sensitive event.
I do hope you can find a way to respond to this call – once again.  We cannot give up; indeed we will not give up.  We must continue to try to convince people here that there is another way; we must end the occupation and bring about an end to this conflict.
Join our joint struggle to overcome indifference and hatred, to bring light and hope to both Israelis and Palestinians.  We need you, our partners.

We Need You.
Our societies have despaired, feeling that peace is impossible... but 10,000 people gathering on May 7th, at our joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Ceremony will prove that peace IS possible. Help us end the occupation, help us end the unnecessary bloodshed, and join with us in bringing peace, justice and equality to all Palestinians and Israelis alike.
