Subject: Be a part of history - the Israeli/Palestinian Joint Memorial is coming…

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2023 Annual Israeli-Palestinian Joint Memorial Ceremony! In the midst of the violence, the civil unrest, and the most divided society in history, we are choosing to follow a different path.

Now in its 18th year, the Ceremony is a chance to reflect, to mourn all of those lost to conflict, and to acknowledge the pain, suffering, and sorrow of the other. The date of the ceremony is significant in Israel. It takes place on the eve of Yom Hazikaron or Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism Memorial Day. It is one of the most somber days in Israel where everything shuts down, the state TV channels only broadcast coverage of the National memorial ceremony, and it feels very dark. Our ceremony is different. You will hear from both Israelis and Palestinians bereaved through conflict, hear new perspectives that challenge our ideals, and feel the light seep in as we come together to both remember the past and look ahead to a brighter future for all.

For the first year since the Corona outbreak, we are going back to the park! We expect to be joined by over 10,000 people in Ganei Yehoshua Park in Tel Aviv, in a huge show of defiance, of strength, and of humanity.

To achieve true democracy in Israel, and to end the occupation in Palestine, we must first acknowledge the other. There is no other way forward.

Please, support the ceremony, so we can truly show that this is the will of the people, the international community is behind us, and together, we can create a more peaceful future. You will be able to join the live stream of the memorial from wherever you are in the world. Last year we had 300,000 people with us live - let’s grow our community, and declare once again - war is not an act of fate, there is another way!
