Open House Info Session

Anmeldungen bitte an c.braunshofer@ris-swiss-section.org.

Wiederanmeldung bzw. Abmeldung

  • Frau Samira Reinhardt (Sekundarstufe: Mathematik, Chemie)

  • Frau Anja Peter (untere Primarstufe: DaF)

  • Herr Gleb Supanov (Sekundarstufe: Biologie und Chemie, Englisch)

Herzliche Grüsse

Ihr Schulleitungsteam

New Toilet Use Policy in the School Building

Child protection is an issue where we cooperate closely with our mother school RIS. In order to ensure uniform rules across the campus, we will separate access to the toilets for children/students and adults (parents and teachers) from the beginning of May

Please note that from 1 May, the toilets on the ground floor (between the administration office and the music room) will be reserved exclusively for adults.

The toilets on the 1st and 2nd floor, on the other hand, are reserved exclusively for students.

The pre-school children will continue to use their non-public toilets in the classrooms.

The respective signage is going to be installed by the maintenance team.

Parent information event

The 4th of May has been declared worldwide Anti-Bullying Day. The students will deal with the topic in class lessons and school activities.

For our parents, we offer another webinar with media expert Daniele Lenzo in our "Healthy School" project series. This time, Mr. Lenzo addresses the topic of "mobbing and online bullying".

The link to the webinar, which will take place on Thursday 4 May at 19:00, will be emailed to all parents next Tuesday (2 May). Mr Lenzo will speak in German, but there will again be an English translation.

Cash for Lunch on 4th and 5th May

On 4 and 5 May the RIS is closed and the canteen will only be open on a limited basis. We kindly ask you to give the children cash for lunch on these two days.

Sports Day

After a three-year break, our sports day is back! On Thursday, 11 May, the school bag stays at home, because this day is all about sporting competition:

From 7:30 to lunch break:

  • Primary level (grades 1-6): Athletics triathlon with long jump, sprint and ball long throw as well as fun parcours on the Swiss Section sports field.

  • Secondary level: Sports all-around competition in mixed-age teams with Softball and Ultimate Frisbee (RIS Phoenix Field), swimming relay races (RIS Phoenix Pool) and badminton (Swiss Section Sports Hall).

12:30 to approx. 14:00:

  • Joint relay races of all students on the Swiss Section sports field, followed by award ceremony and closing ceremony.

14:00: Departure Montri Buses

All students in grades 1-12 come to school on this day in regular sportswear and are asked to bring a water bottle.

As usual, the Landhaus Bakery will provide nourishment during the breakfast break and lunch in the RIS canteen will take place as normal.

There will be no afternoon lessons or afternoon classes on this day.

Compensation Day: Cancelled

As there have been no unforeseen school closures in the past weeks, the compensation day on 13 May does not need to be used and remains free of school.

Oral Matura Examinations / Diploma Ceremony / Matura Ball

The written Matura examinations have just been finished by our 12th graders. Next, the oral Matura examinations are due to take place from 17 to 23 May. We wish our Matura students every success!

In this context, please also note that this year's Matura Diploma Ceremony will take place together with the Matura Ball at the Carlton Hotel Bangkok on 10 June 2023 at 17:00. The Matura award ceremony is thus separated in time and place from the awarding of the secondary school diplomas, which will already take place on 9 June at 13:30 at the school.

The entire school community is cordially invited to both events and the Matura students and school management hope that you will come in large numbers to this highlight of the school year.

Tickets for the Matura Ball are still available online.

Parent Council Meeting

The fourth and last Parent Council meeting of the current school year will take place online under the management of Parent Council Chairman Mr. Andrew Djie on Thursday 18 May at 19:00. The parent representatives will receive the link for the meeting closer to date.

Open House Info Session

On Saturday 20 May we will once again be opening our doors to families who are interested to enrol their children at our school and would like to find out more about us.

  • 13:00 Welcome with snacks and coffee

  • 13:15 Presentation by the school management team

  • 14:00 Guided tour of the school, meeting and talking to teachers and parent representatives

  • 15:00 End of event

As always on this occasion, our guests will have the opportunity for an exchange with parent representatives, teachers and students in German, English or Thai.

If you have friends or acquaintances who are interested in our school, please share this invitation with them. Thank you very much!

Information evening for parents of the future 7th grade

As part of our information for parents, the head of the secondary school, Mr Eggert, will give a presentation on the structure, organisation and objectives of the secondary school and answer questions on Tuesday 23 May at 7:45 a.m. in the music room. An invitation will be sent to all concerned parents in due course.

Due to a teacher training session (German: "Lehrerfortbildung"), school will end for all students at noon on Friday, 26 May. The Montri bus departure time will be coordinated with the end of school. Should your child attend afternoon classes at RIS, transport will have to be organized privately.

Invitation to School Community Brunch

All members of the school community are cordially invited to the first Family Networking Brunch on Sunday 28 May at 12:00pm at The Westin Hotel.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy international delicacies together, get to know each other better, network and build new relationships.

A very special offer of THB 1,835 net per person applies to our school community, children 10 years and under eat free. Children's entertainment including theatre, art and magic will be provided.

We look forward to meeting you and your family, exchanging ideas and networking. Please send your registrations to c.braunshofer@ris-swiss-section.org.

Re-registration & Deregistration for the School Year 2023/24

In the second week of May, you will receive an email from us with your personal link to re-register your child/children for the school year 2023/24. As in the previous school year, this will be done via our online registration platform OpenApply.

Should you leave us at the end of school year, a deregistration is necessary. In this case, please inform Ms Marion Sommer in the school admin office as soon as possible. She will assist you with the deregistration formalities. Thank you very much for your support!

Reminder: Please remember to bring your school ID cards!

Recently, there has been an increase in cases of students entering the school premises without scanning their ID card at the security barrier. Particularly at the main entrance (Gate 8) in front of the school building, some of our little learners like to slip through the security barriers without ID scan, as CCTV footage proves.

This behaviour unfortunately compromises access control and security as a whole. RIS Security has thus been instructed not to tolerate "slip-throughs" in the future. In order to avoid unnecessary conflicts at the entrances, we would like to ask you to make sure that your child carries his or her school ID card in the morning and shows it to the security staff. The children themselves have already been reminded of this by their homeroom teachers.

Classes and Homeroom Teachers in the School Year 2023/24

Staff planning has already been completed and we are happy to inform you which teachers will take on homeroom functions in the coming school year.

Furthermore, we are pleased to introduce the following new teachers for the school year 2023/24:

  • Mr. Fabian Grund (deputy principal and head of secondary school, German and Math)

  • Mrs Samira Reinhardt (secondary school: mathematics, chemistry)

  • Mrs Anja Peter (lower primary: DaF)

  • Mr Gleb Supanov (Secondary: Biology and Chemistry, English)

Sincerely,

Your School Leadership Team
