NowHere K-12 Educator’s Edition: Advancing Education Through Creative Inquiry

Imagine a middle school classroom where a young student sits quietly, struggling to concentrate. Their thoughts are clouded by the stresses of life outside school—pressures they don't yet have the tools to process. Their teacher, overwhelmed by mounting responsibilities and emotional fatigue, feels similarly ill-equipped to support them. Now, imagine that same classroom transformed. Through contemplative practices, the young student learns to pause, breathe, and approach challenges with curiosity, resilience and clarity. Their teacher, too, has gained tools to manage stress and foster a supportive environment. This transformation is the vision of the NowHere K-12 Educator’s Edition, a project that brings Full Presence Mindfulness to educators and learners alike.

The NowHere K-12 Educator’s Edition is an ambitious initiative designed to integrate CCI’s unique approach to mindfulness into classrooms across all grade levels, from kindergarten to 12th grade (ages 5-18). Our dual-purpose guidebook includes a comprehensive Educator Training program alongside classroom-ready lesson plans and activities, equipping Educators of all types with tools to foster both academic and emotional growth in their learners.

The Educator Training component focuses on enhancing Educator’s well-being by addressing challenges such as stress, burnout, and mental fatigue. By questioning and opening up self-imposed limitations, educators not only cultivate their own resilience and emotional balance but also model these skills for their students. The Educator’s Edition complements this training with carefully crafted lesson plans that teach FPM and other contemplative practices to students, helping them develop critical life skills like emotional regulation, empathy, and focus.

This project desires to be particularly impactful in underserved schools and communities, where access to mental health resources is often limited. Your support through Global Giving can help bring this vision to life. Contributions will fund content development, pilot programs, and the distribution of the NowHere K-12 Educator’s Edition. Together, we can transform classrooms and other learning spaces into places where creative inquiry and learning flourish hand in hand.
