Join us for an afternoon of mindfulness and inquiry in the heart of Berkeley. Whether you are browsing the book festival or heading back to your car, we invite you to refresh your perspective with a free practice session.


1:15 PM – Be Quiet and Eat a Cookie

Led by Morgan Wells

Experience a “seeing practice” followed by a mindful eating exercise. A simple, grounding way to bring your full attention to the present moment.


Morgan Wells is the Executive Director of the Center for Creative Inquiry.


2:30 PM – Get Grounded

Led by Jack Petranker

We often find ourselves cut off from our own experience. Explore a quick and effective way to get in touch with what’s happening in your life right now.


Jack Petranker is a Senior Teacher at CCI and a long-time student of Tarthang Tulku.

Center for Creative Inquiry is pleased to host the book launch for a new title by Jack Petranker, the founder of CCI and its Senior Teacher. One with the World builds on Jack’s work in developing Full Presence Mindfulness, an innovative approach to living your life fully.


Through carefully crafted experiential exercises and thoughtful, engaging prose, One with the World reveals how the stories we tell, the language we use, and our unquestioned assumptions hold us back from real fulfillment. It also shows how learning to be fully present can help heal the divisions in our fragmented society.


Jack will be present to sign copies and discuss the book, in conversation with Morgan Wells, Director of CCI. We’ll raffle off three books (no purchase necessary), and there will be refreshments and free giveaways. And of course, books will be available for purchase.
